  • Sunday 27th April 2008 - Wilburn Wanderers (2) Vs Beech United Lions (4)
  • Todays away match against Wilburn Wanders was a must win game for Beech, after a run of 3 loses morale was low but Beech were outstanding once again with B.Scorey putting away 2 early goals beech looked strong. Wilburn responded well and scored themselves the tension was high when L.Fenlon scored making the half time score 3-1 to Beech.
    The second half began with Beech on the attack with many attempts on goal and very near misses, B.Scorey soon scored again getting a hat-trick, Wilburn then got a break with a fast player getting the better of the defence and keeper and scoring. Wilburn tried to get back into the game but Beech out played them today with the final score at 4-2 to Beech.
    Well done for a fantastic season boys were so proud of you, good luck in division A next season.
    Well done to this weeks Man Of The Match O.Henderson for trying so hard for a goal and running your socks off.

  • Sunday 13th April 2008 - Thurrock Youth C (5) Vs Beech United Lions (1)
  • Todays away friendly against Thundermite division A team Thurrock youth C was a tough one for Beech with the rain falling hard and fast it made it tough for Beech but they managed a few early attempts on goal that just missed the target, Thurrock responded by scoring 3 goals in the first half. With the boys cold, wet and shivering they battled on with things looking up when C.Furze scored for Beech but despite a few more attempts we were outplayed by Thurrock who scored 2 more goals making the final score 5-1.
    Well done boys you did your best hope no-one gets a cold.
    Well done to this weeks Man Of The Match B.Merritt for playing your socks off and working hard.

  • Sunday 6th April 2008 - Wilburn Wanderers (P) Vs Beech United Lions (P)
  • Match postponed. Re scheduled for Sunday 27th April 2008.

  • Sunday 30th March 2008 - Beech United Lions (2) Vs Hutton (5)
  • Todays home match against Hutton saw Beech get off to a positive start with L.Fenlon taking an early corner, crossing it into the area to M.Archer who put in a fantasic goal. Hutton however really picked up their game and scored 2 goals of their own making the half time score 2-1 to Hutton.
    The second half began with Hutton awarded a questionable penalty which went wide and missed. Beech tried to get back into the game with L.Fenlon and M.Archer working well together and M.Archer soon finding the back of the net again. Hutton really wanted to win today and scored 3 more goals making the final score 5-2 to Hutton.
    Well done boys you tried so hard and were unlucky, keep your heads up and look forward to next weeks match.
    Well done to this weeks Man Of The Match B.Scorey for a positive game.

  • Sunday 9th March 2008 - Beech United Lions (9) Vs Copeland Colts B (2)
  • Todays home match against Copeland blues saw a strong Beech team, really enjoying their football. Beech were attacking from the off L.Fenlon taking an early corner with C.Gardner putting it in the goal,shortly after Beech were awarded a penalty which L.Fenlon took but was saved by the keeper, Beech were unlucky again with a great shot by M.Archer hitting the crossbar but it wasnt long before L.Fenlon put in 2 fantastic goals one from way out on the right wing and one from just past the halfway line. Beech kept coming on strong with C.Furze runing the ball in past the keeper and some good passing from M.Davis and B.Scorey led to C.Furze scoring again. M.Davis then picked up the ball from a cross turned and faced Copelands keeper and scored with B.Scorey scoring as well not long after. Making the half time score 7-0 to Beech. The second half began with copeland trying to get back in the game and scoring themselves but Beech kept thier heads up and were soon awarded a free kick which B.Scorey took crossing it in to J.Mair who scored. Copeland pulled back another goal but time was running out with, C.furze scoring again just before the whistle, making the final score 9-2 to Beech. Well done today boys you were perfect. Well done to this weeks Man Of The Match C.Furze for a blinding hat-trick.

  • Sunday 2nd March 2008 - Beech United Lions (3) Vs Copeland Colts C (1)
  • Todays home match was a tough one for Beech, they got off to a good start however keeping the ball in the clarets half it was just a matter of time before a goal came. Beech were awarded a corner L.Fenlon took crossing it in beautifully, The clarets tried to clear in but knocked it in the net for an own goal. Copeland fought back hard and got a break down the left wing scoring one for themselves. Beech kept the pressure on with B.Scorey taking a free kick just outside the box, clearing it over the wall and right over the keepers head, making the half time score 2-1.
    The second half begam and the clarets really picked up thier game keeping play in Beechs half but the defence and keeper C.McBride worked hard and kept them at bay. B Scorey then picked up the ball and ran it past the defence down the right wing putting in another lovely goal, Making the final score 3-1 to Beech.
    Well done boys it was a tough one today. Well done to this weeks Man Of The Match B.Merritt for being solid at the back and keeping the clarets at bay.

  • Sunday 17th February 2008 - Beech United Lions (9) Vs Copeland Colts C (1)
  • Todays home match against Copeland colt clarets saw Beech get off to a slow start taking a while to get into the game, but it wasnt long before B.Scorey found the goal and got the game underway properly. With gained confidence Beech worked hard with great goals from O.Henderson, B.Scorey and M.Archer making the half time score 4-0 to Beech.
    The second half began with Beech still in thier stride and the goals kept coming, with B.Scorey scoring 2, J.Mair scoring 2 and another goal from O.Henderson. Copeland tried hard to get back into the game and managed to score a goal but time ran out for them with beech winning the game 9-1.
    Well done Beech you played great.
    Well done to this weeks Man Of The Match J.L.Potter for being solid at the back and some great 1 2's.

  • Postponed - The league awarded 3 points and a 9-1 win for this match to Beech United.

  • Sunday 3rd February 2008 - Beech United Lions (6) Vs Wilburn Wanderers (0)
  • Todays home match saw a very strong Beech team getting into thier stride early in the game, a perfect cross from L.Fenlon saw M.Archer slaming it into the goal for an early lead shortly after C.Furze came storming down the centre of the pitch outran all Wilburns defence and scored a outstanding goal. Wilburn tried to pick up thier game but Beech came back hard with M.Davies scoring a great goal from the left wing making the score at half time 3-0.
    The second half began with A.Lewis scoring a scorcher almost imediatly and a few very near misses from O.Henderson not long after C.Furze found the back of the net again closely followed by L.Fenlon with a super kick from just past the half way line going straight over the keeper for an amazing goal making the final score 6-0 to Beech.
    Well done boys another super performance.

  • Sunday 20th January 2008 - Thundersley Rovers (1) Vs Beech United Lions (4)
  • Todays away match against Thudersley saw Beech get off to a slow start, taking a while to get into the game,leading to Thundersley getting an early 1-0 lead. It didnt take Beech long however to find thier feet with L.Fenlon putting in a lovely goal from the left, shortly afterwards Beech took the lead with a great goal from J.Mair, making the half time score 2-1 to Beech.
    The second half began with the strong wind on Beech's side with Beech putting the pressure on in Thunderslys half C.Furze also put the ball in the net with a blinding goal. Beech kept up the pace and a lovely cross from M.Archer saw an own goal from Thundersley making the final score 4-1 to Beech.
    Well done boys you were all wonderful again. Well done to this weeks Man Of The Match M.Davis for getting stuck in.

  • Sunday 16th Decmber 2007 - Beech United Lions (2) Vs Copeland Colts Clarets (0)
  • Todays home match against Copeland clarets saw Beech well up for it, they started off strong keeping possession well and it wasnt long before A.Lewis put in a great goal for Beech. A tight defence kept copeland at bay for the rest of the half keeping the half time score at 1-0 to Beech.
    The second half began with Beech on the attack again with A.Lewis scoring again and widening the lead, Beech kept the shots coming with many near misses from M.Davis, M.Archer and B.scorey but Beech did what they needed to and won the game 2-0. Well done boys you really picked up your game this week, keep up the good work. Well done to this weeks Man Of the Match A.Lewis for a great game and 2 good goals.

  • Sunday 9th Decmber 2007 - Beech United Lions (1) Vs Thundersely Rovers (0)
  • Todays home match against Thundersley rovers saw both teams working hard. The first half was pretty evenly matched with both teams having equal possession of the ball, we didnt see any goals untill early in the second half when B.Scorey ran the ball down the wing and scored, Beech had a few more chances on goal which Thundersleys keeper saved each time making the final score 1-0 to Beech.
    Well done today boys it was a tough one but you did it.
    Well done to this weeks Man Of The Match C.Furze for getting stuck in and a strong game.

  • Sunday 25th November 2007 - Beech United Lions (1) Vs Wickford Town (3)
  • Todays home match against Wickford Town was a tough one with some of our players out injured, Beech needed to work extra hard. There was a chance for Beech to take an early lead when a penalty was given for hand-ball, C.Furze took it but unfortunately it was saved by Wickfords keeper. Beech did however take the lead shortly after with a goal from B.Scorey and we kept Wickford at bay for the rest of the half.
    The second half began and Wickford came on strong with some rather hard tackles injuring yet more of our players but we battled on but Wickford soon equalised and went on to score again making the score 2-1 to them.
    Wickford were awarded a penalty of their own from which they scored, but a good decision from the ref for players still in the area saw them made to take again and hit the post. So Beech had a lucky escape but not lucky enough as Wickford scored yet again. Beech tried hard and had a few near misses on goal but lost 3-1 in the end.
    Bad luck today boys you were unlucky.
    Well done to this weeks Man Of The Match C.Gardner for working hard even though he wasn't in his usual position.

  • Sunday 18th November 2007 - Thundersley Rovers (0) Vs Beech United Lions (10)
  • Todays away match against Thundersley rovers started out tough for Beech with all the defence working hard, but they soon got into their stride with L.Fenlon and B.Scorey both scoring making the score at half time 2-0.
    The second half began and Beech came on strong with yet more goals.
    B.Scorey went on to score 3 more goals, M.Archer scored 4 J.Mair and A.Lewis got a goal each all todays goals were pure quality and showed real skill. There was no stopping Beech today the whole team played an outstanding game of football and should be very proud.
    Well done to this weeks Man Of The Match B.Merritt for running his socks off and a great job as captain.

  • Sunday 11th November 2007 - Copeland Colts Clarets (0) Beech United Lions (1)
  • Todays away match against Copeland Clarets was a must win game for Beech, with both teams battling for second place in the league. Both teams came out strong with an early attempt on goal from Copeland with defender J.L.Potter heading the ball onto the crossbar for keeper C.McBride to make a comfortable catch, it was a close call for Beech which made them pick up their game. Beech came on strong and kept possession, with the ball in Copelands half L.Fenlon picked up the ball,ran it down the left wing and put in a lovely cross to B.Scorey who passed a defender and put the ball in the net, making the score at half time 1-0 to Beech.
    The second half began and Beech were the dominating team keeping the ball in Copelands half for the majority of the half, with close attempts on goal from A.Lewis, C.Furze and J.Mair just missing out, Beech kept Copeland at bay winning the game 1-0.
    Well done to all the boys you were all outstanding.

  • Sunday 4th November 2007 - Beech United Lions (5) Vs Wickford Town (2)
  • Todays home match against Wickford, Beech started off well with some early shots just missing the goal, Wickford came on strong and managed to get past the defence and scored. Beech picked up their game and B.Scorey equalised with a great goal from the left wing making the score 1-1 at half time. The second half began with a more comfortable Beech team and before long B.Scorey scored again.
    Beech were passing well and played the ball into Wickfords half where L.Fenlon scored a great goal, within seconds Beech had gained possession again with B.Scorey running the ball up and putting in a good cross to J.Mair who picked it up and scored.
    wickford picked up their game and managed to pull back a goal but Beech were the stronger team and out played them with B.Scorey scoring again making the final score 5-2 to Beech.
    Well done boys you all played well.

  • Sunday 28th October 2007 - Beech United Lions (5) Vs Hutton (2)
  • Todays home match against hutton saw a strong Beech team despite less than perfect weather, less than 5 minutes gone and some good teamwork A.lewis scored a great goal. Beech were all over Hutton and before long B.Scorey found the back of the net. Beech were strong and kept possession well and after a great cross from B.Scorey J.Mair put in another great goal making the score 3-0 at half time.
    The second half began with Hutton more determined but Beech kept the edge and B.Scorey put in another goal from way outside the box, Hutton came back strong and managed to slip a goal in, with Beech on a run the referee awarded Hutton a free kick from which the managed to score but beech didn't worry and not long after C.Furze outrun huttons defence and scored making the final score 5-2 to Beech.
    Well done today boys you were outstanding.

  • Sunday 21st October 2007 - Harold Hill (2) Vs Beech United Lions (1)
  • Todays away match against Harold Hill was a very close match with both teams working hard.
    The start of the match was very fast paced with both teams passing well but Harold hill got a lucky break just before half time, keeper C.McBride and defender J.L.Potter tried their best to save it but the ball rolled along the goal mouth and went into the right hand corner making the score 1-0 to Harold hill at half time.
    The second half began with Beech playing uphill and having to work harder, with a couple of close shots from Harold hill and even better saves from our keeper Beech once again were in possession with a real team effort they got the ball back into Harold hills half, B.Scorey picked up the ball and made a superb run past all the defence a scored an exceptional goal.
    With Beeches morale raised they kept attacking with no luck on goal and a few questionable decisions from the referee, it wasn't long before Harold hill were back in possession and scored a lucky goal from a deflection, Beech battled harder than ever but time just ran out making the final score Harold hill 2 Beech united 1.
    Well done today boys you were great and played hard.

  • Sunday 14th october 2007 - Thurrock YFC (5) Vs Beech United Lions (0) - Cup Match
  • Todays away cup match against Thurrock was always going to be a tough one with Thurrock being a premier league team, but the Beech boys played well and kept Thurrock at bay till midway through the first half when a lucky goal slipped past the keeper. Beech battled on with some good passes but Thurrock were awarded a free kick just outside of our area and scored.
    Beech seemed disheartend and unfortunately gave away a penalty from which Thurrock scored again just before half time making the score 3-0.
    The second half began with Beech making some good runs on both wings but we just couldn't seem to find the goal and it wasn't long before Thurrock were back in possession and had scored another goal. With the clock ticking on Beech tried desperately for a goal of their own but sadly it wasn't to be Thurrock were in a class of their own and scored a great goal from outside the area which nobody could have stopped making the final sore 5-0 to Thurrock.
    Unlucky today boys you battled hard (we know you only lost to give us parents a lie in on cup days so thanks us old people need it!) Well done to this weeks Man Of The Match D.Boyling for great defending.

  • Sunday 7th October 2007 - Hutton (0) Vs Beech United Lions (1)
  • Todays away match against Hutton FC saw both teams evenly matched in ability.
    The first half was very close with both teams working hard and some close shots on target from Hutton with keeper C.McBride doing a great job to keep Hutton from scoring.
    Towards the end of the half Beech kept possession well with a few near misses on goal from L.Fenlon, A.Lewis and M.Archer but at half time the score was 0-0.
    The second half began with Beech passing well and it wasn't long before C.Furze scored a cleaver goal with the ball rolling straight past Huttons keeper.
    Hutton almost equalised but a good linesman decision called offside before the ball went in so the goal was disallowed. Both teams had a few more shots on goal but none were successful making the final score 1-0 to Beech.
    Keep up the good work boys!
    Well done to B.Scorey in his first game of the season you played very well.

  • Sunday 30th September 2007 - Beech United Lions (2) Vs Harold Hill (4)
  • Todays home match against Harold Hill saw both teams pretty evenly matched in ability. The defenders worked hard to keep Harold Hill from scoring with some good saves from C.McBride. Unfortunately one of Harold Hills players took a nasty fall, badly injured his arm and needed to go to hospital, but the match carried on with good sportsmanship from both teams. Just before the half time whistle Harold Hill scored making the score at half time 1-0.
    The second half began and Beech gained more control keeping possession well with a superb run from M.Archer down the right wing and a great cross to A.Lewis who put the ball brilliantly in the back of the net. Harold Hill kept the ball in Beech's half and managed to score another two goals. Beech kept their heads up and after a Beech throw J.McNair scored a great goal straight down the middle. Harold Hill were a strong team and scored yet another goal. Beech battled on with a few near misses on goal but the clock was against us and the match ended with the final score 4-2 to Harold Hill.
    We would like to wish the injured Harold Hill player all the best and a speedy recovery.

  • Sunday 23rd September 2007 - Wilburn Wanderers (1) Vs Beech United Lions (9)
  • Todays away match against Wilburn was Beech's first match of the season in the Thundermite league and what a game it was. Beech played great in the first half keeping possession well with a strong defence and the mid-field linking up well with the strikers it wasn't long before Beech were on the scoreboard with brilliant goals from A.Lewis(2),M.Archer and C.Gardner.
    Just before half time Wilburn were awarded a controversial penalty for pushing from which they scored past C.McBride who was playing his first game in goal making the half time score 4-1 to Beech.
    The second half began much like the first with Beech very much the dominating team and the goals kept coming with A.Lewis scoring again, Beech were awarded a penalty from which L.Fenlon scored, and yet more goals from M.Davies, J. McNair and L.Compton making the final score Beech United 9 - Wilburn Wanderers 1.
    Well done to all the boys you all played great keep up the good work.
